Environmental Impact Statement

On April 18, 2025, the Department of the Air Force (DAF) announced the intent to develop an EIS, which began the public scoping period. During the scoping period, comments on the project, resources to be analyzed and other information related to the scope of the EIS were solicited. Tribal governments; federal, state, and local agencies; organizations; special interest groups; and individuals were invited to be involved in the scoping process and were encouraged to submit written comments to assist with identifying alternatives or providing information to inform the analysis.

DAF held five in-person public scoping meetings and one virtual public scoping meeting to inform the public about the Proposed Action and accept comments on the scope of the analysis. During the “open house” in-person public scoping meetings, project team members were available to provide information, and the public was encouraged to provide comments.
